FAQ
A great caricaturist can get a likeness in a few strokes, however most people want their caricature to be fleshed out in as much detail as possible. The artist must strike the right balance between an illustration and a sketch. EvenToons artists draw for 5-7 minutes per subject so you can estimate 9-12 per hour. In general, the more willing people are lined up, the less detailed—and time consuming—the caricatures tend to be. Doug encourages clients not to worry too much about every single person getting a caricature, remember that with a 32" display showing the picture unfold, live digital caricature is entertainment for everybody, not just those who get a drawing.
Yes, you can havea unique template designed for your event created for your event using any branding you choose. It may be a simple or complex solution depending on your needs and budget. Simply e-mail Doug a jpeg, .eps or any graphics file with a good resolution. (Web graphics are generally too low in resolution for printing.)
Every EvenToons artist brings his own small photo printer. The 4x6” prints take less then a minute, and can be worn in a badge holder , slipped into a frame or tucked away in a purse or pocket.
For big crowds and venues, size does matter and if you can provide a big screen display your EventToons artist can plug right in. Alternatively each artist can bring their own 32” LED screen at no extra charge. You are asked to supply a table to set it on. If you provide a “high boy” cocktail table the artist will bring a black stretch cover for it. For an additional fee Doug has a custom stand that can be used instead of a table.
Since caricatures are drawn in a "portrait mode", that is, a rectangle taller than it is wide, a display mounted in normal landscape mode, no matter how big it is, will be wasting half the screen. Clients who provide a large screen are encouraged to have it mounted in portrait mode.
Yes, both Doug and EventToons associate artist Zach Trenholm can draw with the iPad. In addition to being an object of interest to your guests, the iPad gives the artist the flexibility to rove untethered among the crowd.
Caricature jpegs are available for download the morning after, or even sooner, of your event. The EvenToons URL is on the template so your guests will know where to find the download page.

Typical fees are $250 an hour, or $1600 a day. Factors that can add to the cost are travel—we are based in San Francisco, and dates that fall within the busy holiday season. With three excellent associate artists available, Doug will do his best to match the right artist with your budget.
